In our pursuit of sustainable crude production growth, it is imperative to focus on the training of low and middle cadre manpower in the oil and gas sector. Yesterday, I visited the site of the Skills Development Centre in Port Harcourt, a project initiated by the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) in collaboration with the Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
It was disheartening to witness the incomplete state of the facility, rendering it nonfunctional. Following the inspection, I held discussions with the contractor, PTDF management, NCDMB, and other stakeholders to address the bottlenecks hindering the project’s completion.
Acknowledging the importance of timely resolution, I assured all parties of the Federal Government’s commitment to maximizing the value of every investment. It is imperative that this structure is completed promptly to fulfill its intended purpose and contribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
